I fell in love with you today

and, silly me, I tried to say

I did not know that you were just flattered

and that my devotion had never mattered

so I looked down when my heart splattered

My soul was crushed beneath your heel

I guess this means I'm not quite real

and that it's irrelevant just what I feel

and you won't have to hear me moan

as I see your sweet eyes roam

...across the crowd

Now from the dark, I see your wings

spread and soar as your spirit sings

you've forgotten me and the little things
